My reflection

Why I must to study in ENG-380 ? Is repetitious question that occurs to me all the times.
I never think I will study in this course. Why? First, I don't have any backgrounds about business and trade. My minor is tourism. Second , I think this course is difficult to me to understand about business because I don't like its. Last, Eng-380 isn't related with my minor so I don't have any reasons to study. First class, I had an opportunity to study. That time, I didn't think anythings. I think when the class is ending. When second class studied, my stupid thinking in ENG-380 vanised from my head.

I don't know why? Perhaps, it is the teacher that is Aj.Kob.

You know? The teacher can speak very well to sustain me and everyone in class. She didn't care who is clever or perfect. She think that everyone is equal. This point makes me admired her. Furthermore, she pay attentions to teach everyone. I got a lot of new knowledges and experiences from her such as blog and dealing in business. These of all are new things for me. I know business isn't easy. We must be active and careful to think or make something. Like teacher said every minute is valuable. I agree with her. Lastly,I would liketo say "thank you" to Aj. Kob. My task isn't complete ,if I don' have Aj. Kob to be a good advisor.

All of all, I can bring this subject to adjust to use in my life. It makes me to be a working-woman and think with careful and considerate before I will do its.

Sometimes cried, Sometimes confuse, Somtimes laugh...But " haPPy"

SHISEIDO's promotion strategy is an advertisement and communication in various medias. Why?. Because of they want to rivet the customer's perception and build awareness brands to them.


-They used commando strategy with the customer to present the product. This strategy is the salesman to met directly with the customer and advise about our products.

-Road show activity, make customer to join with us and do activities together such as, university, high-school and office etc.


-In -store promotion is focusing about on sale.


-Brand identity used the J-Pop to build the brand. Because of SHISEIDO brand is the brand cosmetic in Japan. Then we will advertise by using Japanese advertisement, Japanese movie star presenters and J-Pop activities to build the brand in the same way.


- SHISEIDO Counter Beauty is the way to attact the customer. It is the beauty center. There was consultant beauty to give an advices for the customer. It made customer fell impression with our services.

SHISEIDO is a multi-brand and luxury brand that is beside customer more than forty years ago. And, is the number one cosmetics manufacture in Japan and number four in the world. It consist of about 20 brands under SHISEIDO names, Elixir, Superieur, Maquillage and other brands which are sold in department stores, train station etc. They try to produce different brands from other brands cosmetics such as non-brand, premium-brand , masstige-brand and international-brand. Their products will cover every level of customer. It isn't wonder why SHISEIDO become to be the leader of cosmetic in the world.

SHISEIDO company is the high-end company. All of products are luxury and was sold around the world such as Thailand, Singapore, india, Hong-Kong, America and other countries in Asia. So the main target is the women who whant to have a white skin. Almost women are 30 up because of these group rather have a high income.



Now, SHISEIDO skin care was expanding the brand to cover every level of customer. For example, Ettusais brand is a new brand of skin care and makeup which is non-brand of SHISEIDO. Ettusais's target is teenager who has style trendy around 18-25 years old. Because of this group, there were a lot of people. Besides, SHISEIDO produced a skin care product for men too.

SHISEIDO was founded in 1872 in Japan and started to expand products in 1929. Therfore the company had an advatage to be the first company cosmetic.This is one reason why SHISEIDO's products sold good in cosmetic market.

They developed a unique strategy of combining Western technology with the area of every country which they sold the products. Their ability to adapt to the special requirements of the market. White Lucent isn't miracle or magic cream but it produce to prevent skin from UV. And it is the key to clear, young looking skin.

Rationale : Why this brand?

Why this brand? It is the question that I asked me all the times. Before I will decide to choose this brand, I searched a lot of brands but I don't like it. Finally, I choose SHISEIDO brand because this brand is a famous cosmetic brand in Japan. And I have a few knoweldge about cosmetic. Besides, I saw that nowadays, there are women more than men . Women more take care about beauty. Beauty's products are sold in everywhere so prduct cosmetics are interesting. I'm a women who want to be beautiful likes other people. I want to have a white-skin. My skin is rather black . I think people who has a white-skin to look good, clean and trustworthy.
However, when we use skincare of each brands, we must consider to buy with attention such as standard, quality, image and manufacture. SHISEIDO cosmetic has standard to produce. Every product has quality. There is SHISEIDO beauty for customer to give an advice about a skin. It belong to help you to be beauty without any risks. And it was confirmed by professional of SHISEIDO.

My journal 6

On 1 July,2010, today it was serious for me. Before I will study in Eng. 380, I tested in Eng.463. Oh my god!!! it was difficult. At 3 o' clock, I went to study Eng-38o. When I arrived at my class, I felt excited immediately. Today every groups must role play about the first day of working. Then aj. Kob gave each group to send one volunteer to pick a lebl. My group must present on the third groups. At time, I felt wory because I afraid of my group not well to present and everyone in class didn't understand what we show but I tried to do its. Although,there was a diiferent when we compared with other groups. However, my group was glad that we will show some spirit to everyone. Other groups presented very good. I really liked it. It was funny and interested. And, finally after every groups presented already, teacher invited everyone to take a phptograph together. That time, it was a happy time that I take a photograph with my friends and teacher changed the time to send every journals too.

My journal 5


On 24 June, 2010, today was very busy for me. I giddied with my homework. It was various subjects which I must do it. Firstly when I arrived in my class and sat on the chair. Teacher greeted everyone and open some viedeo that she don't say what about is. In my eyes,I can guess that video may be greeting in office. Surely, it was a video about greeting in first day of working at office. It looked interesting. After I saw, I could brought its to use in real life very well. Secondly, she told to announcement. What she say about?

1. This courses will end on 10 August, 2010.

2.She talked about Blog Police. Everyone must was a fastidious person to find friends's mistake on their blogs such as color, front, focus, unity, balance at all. Then, she showed some blog of my friend.

3.Inviting letter, everyone must write one letter to invite our friends at least 5 blogs to comment my blogs.

4. Midterm exam, it coming soon. Very very fast!!!! She told that Victoria's Secret & Business Packet is a midterm exam. Now, how I should do??? I must begin to prepare myslf now.

And finallly, she gave everyone to divide a group. To prepare group work will present on next class. Every group will role play such as greeting culture at the first day of working or a welcoming dinner/ lunch/ informal.

On 15 June,2010, teacher taught about "Marketing mix 4 p." It consist of product, promotion, price and place. And there was R&D=Research & Development. Teacher said that If brand is the brand global, we can buy equipment of this product every market. After that she spoke about Phillip Kotler who tell about Create customer value (What does a consumer want?/What does a product mean to him),
Positioning (price, quality, image, service, design, style),
Branding (promise, brand, value, slogan, logo). Finally, she told to everyone to think our brands that what our brands sell such as fun, modern, first-class etc. And then apply to our blogs.

On 17 June,2010, Today,I felt very very fun. Why??? Because of there was presentations about interview. First group was Mr. Champ and his friends. They spoke very well. It was a good model to other groups. When I saw this group, I felt excited because they interviewed like real situation. Everybody claped their hands. It was a good activity which help me to prepare myself before I will interview the job. It made me know that how should I speak when I were interviewed. In my mind, I felt very excited but I passed it good well.

Company Background (SHISEIDO)



From a pharmacy to one of the world cosmetic.

SHISEIDO was the cosmetic’s company in Japan and was founded by Arinobu Fukuhara in 1872. Arinobu Fukuhara was a pharmacist who opens western style pharmacy and they called “SHISEIDO Pharmacy”. That time, Shiseido Pharmacy was popular in high class. In 1888, Shiseido began to produce cream toothpaste and 1897, Shiseido produced body lotion that is “Eudermine” This name came from Greece language. EU means good and DERMA means skin. This product was the first line of SHISEIDO. In 1906, Shinzo son of Yushin Fukuhara expanded the Shiseido cosmetics from lotion to cosmetic. Finally, Shiseido cosmetic replaced the medical supplies and became a main product of Shiseido. There were a lot of product lines such as skin care, makeup, sun care, hair care, fragrance and SHISEIDO's product men.

Reflection (Victoria's Secret)



Sexy Lingerie! It was the first thing that I know about Victoria’s Secret and it was the brand of underwear, panties etc. After I read the Web Launch (p.3-4) and I saw on the web VictoriasSecretCom. I got some new knowledge that I never know it before. For me, I understood that Victoria’s Secret begins to present their products on the web site .And there was an advertisement for expansion their products by web site, TV and newspaper. This point, I thought it was a great idea that will make consumer to know quickly in everywhere .They began to build this brand in their country. Not for a long time, Victoria’s Secret became a leader brand in online and customer knew its very well. Consumer can order the product to pass on the web site. It was comfortable and easy for consumer. After that, Victoria web site had a lot of viewers and can beat other brands such as Amazon and PayPal. Why? Because Victoria’s Secret had a different way to sell their products, speed accessibility to consumer and vast invesment so it quickly grew other brands.

On 8 ,June 2010, First time, when teacher came into our classes, she showed student's blog about 7 blogs. That blog was beautiful . My friends were creative to design many brands in their blogs and I admired its. Friend’s blog could be a model to design my blog too. After that, teacher gave many suggestions to design blog to everybody in class. I thought, that suggestion can improve my block very well! Then, teacher moved on to Victoria’s Secret which is a group work. Then, representative of each group came to present thrir works. And then, teacher taught about"What are the successful factors of Victoria's Secret" and "You think what do you wear." After teacher asked you think what do you wear. I puzzeled in her question. I didn't know what she means. When she taught already, I knew that she means trendy or smart. For example, when we bought our shoes, we will buy its because it was good-looking and smart. And then, teacher gave an assignments and everybody must due in 17 June,2010. Now, I'm OK. Lastly,I'm rather serios beacause two journal must due within 12 Saturday,2010. Surely, tonight my journal will send to Aj.Kob.


Begin difficult!!!

On 10 June,2010, aj.Kob taught about "Promotion strategy" and she told that what make the brand successful in terms of promotion strategy. It was only thing that I didn't want to meet its but I cannot escape from its. I must find SHISEIDO brand information for analysis. Then paraphrase to my language. Besides, she ordered to everyone to find their brand information to disscuss in next class(Give new information). And everyone must post reflection on their blog. It was a good work which I improve my thinking procession and writing skill.

My journal 2

On 1 st June, 2010,It was the second day that I study in ENG.380. I felt happy. When teacher came in our classes, she offered ten volunteers to present something that she didn't tell what is about. It was surprised for me and everybody in classes and time that we wait to arrive. Could you guess it? 10 volunteers showed about the product. Almost products were women's bag. They were intelligent to present and good acting. It was interested. That activity was apart of warm-up activity before we will study. Then Aj.Kob taught about What are really in women's bag? The solution is "need". After that she spoke about Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. The word "need" can describe a lot of meaning. Morever,teacher told us that three important words of business that is Wants/Needs/Desires. All of words were level different of want. I agree with teacher. Lastly, teacher gave us to divide the group to present Victoria's secret on next class. For me, today I gave a lot of new knowledges more and more!!!.

On 27 May,2010, Why I take this courses? It is the question that I ask me all time. There was one reason that I take this course that is I want to know about business and want to study with a kind teacher.This courses is English for International Trade. In fact,I don't have business knowledge and minor is tourism. First time,I studied in class with Aj.Kob, I felt excited and joyful. I never studied with Aj.Kob. It is the first class that I studied with her. In my mind,I felt insecure to study this subject.I think,it was difficult to design blog by computer because I had a little knowledge about computer and business. But,the teacher can speke to everybody that don't depress so I have a spirit to study. And I'm sure, I must do it with my attention.
